Emotional connect

Ever thought why you like a movie or a book? You will only like them in two cases, one when you cant live a life that is being lived by the characters or two when the characters live a life that is connected to you.

3 Idiots is latest 'emotionally connecting' (to be read 'we experienced the same in our life') movie in the country, and a vast majority of the audience loved the movie. Just like Taare Zameen Par, people seem to have fallen in love with the idea of crtitising the education system and then correcting it after having lived in the system for decades.

I have no idea of why someone loves either movies. Accepted, they have shown a different theme, and many live vicariously on the screen, in the books - But eventually we return to living our own life. Nothing matters after the emotional connect is broken with the movie over a period of time. Life kicks you hard, and it hurts... Oouch!!!

There have been directors who have made the best of the movies. They are not the best because I like them, and certainly not the best because they are rated the best. They have been the ones which has connected the audience to the movie for a very long time.People relate themselves to the movies while living their life.

Will bollywood ever reach that phase? Sphere: Related Content

you said,"But eventually we return to living our own life".

i agree. but don't you think, living our own life before we saw the movie and living it after we saw the movie will be different??? i think the ghost of the movie will remain with us, either depressing us even further or motivating us to bring on certain changes in our life. change it does - depends on our inner strength!

Change is good. Whether t brings a positive or a negative energy, it is good. Change means that the ego is fighting with the super ego. Ego seperates what is real.

I have watched this movie thrice, not because I liked it so much but I had to watch it with three groups. I have heard at least one parent walking out saying, 'meaningful movie'. I am sure the same parent will wake up next morning and say the same thing, "Sharma ji ke ladke ko AIIMS me admission mila hai" :-)

We dont need movies to for an emotional, we need to be open to connect to our own self. Till we do it, we will always remain incomplete - from within.
