Chiranjeevi announced the launch of his political party Praja Rajyam. What was expected out of him a decade ago, came true for most of his fans. For a long time, he had been refraining himself from entering into politics. I remember the times during my graduation when I used to discuss if the Mega Star Chiranjeevi would ever enter politics and there were two views from people all the time. People were dual minded, wanting him to enter into politics and also not enter the lost world. Primarily because people knew and wanted a person who had the ability to move the crowd.
Just like Rajnikanth is for Tamil movie industry, Chiranjeevi stands as tall as the former in AP. Having declared his own party, Chiranjeevi has not only come out clean in the gathering at Tirupati amoung the fans but has also ensured no immediate rivalry from the his opponents. He ensured that he would focus on his strengths rather than weakness of the opponents. Speaking about Telangana, he succeeded in steering the thought process of the mass towards an issue that has been long pending in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
With actors having a huge fan following it certainly is a smaarrt move to start a political party. What has to be seen is whether acting a politician is easier or enacting is.
I guess what matters most to the people is their own welfare at the end of the day. It does not matter a lot as to who runs the government, but as long as people are happy, they would want to elect the same goverment later. Some rules don't change in the world of politics. What would be interesting to watch out for is will the two leading competitors, Congress and Telugu Desham Party (TDP) pair up together to fight against the size of Praja Rajyam
